Ducati reveal new range of gadget cases & sleeves

Popular Italian bike firm, Ducati, have just announced a new partnership in the clothing and accessory market with a company called iSkin, and together they have launched a new Ducati branded range of sleeves and holders for laptops, tablets and smart phones.

Motorcycle News: New Ducati bags and cases for your favourite gadgets

The new 'Ducati Collection' focuses on providing stylish solutions for those looking to carry and protect high-tech devices such as laptops, iPads and iPhones on the go. To represent the brands passion for premium quality, the new range is made with the finest Italian nylon and other exotic materials, and as you'd expect comes in the famous Ducati red, white and black colours.

Lucio Attina of Ducati Apparel commented "We are delighted to be teaming-up with iSkin, a company which clearly champions the same product passion as Ducati. Their innovative design and style combined with high performance functionality, mirror the fundamental features of our motorcycles."

The new collection includes the 'Sling' which is a bag for iPads or similarly sized netbooks and tablets, the 'Jimmy' which has pockets suitable for a laptop or something smaller, the 'Summit' which is a slick, lightweight sleeve for iPads or other tablets, and finally the 'Lil Keeper' which will stow a digital camera or iPhone with ease.

Motorcycle News: The boutique styling is aimed at the female biking market

The majority of the designs seem targeted towards women with high-end boutique styling, however the firm also have plans for bringing out some simpler and smaller phone cases in the near future. This new partnership follows the recent pairing with luggage specialist Tumi and represents an obvious push from Ducati at breaking into the lifestyle goods market.

The kit is available to buy now at iSkin.com/Ducati with some items available at shop.ducati.com in the coming months. It's a bit later for a Christmas gift but something from the collection could be a sound investment if you get any special gadgets over the festive period.

New Ducati & AMG 'Streetfighter Yellow' models

Ducati have just displayed a new special edition Streetfighter model to re-affirm their partnership with Mercedes-AMG, the specialist tuning company. The stunning yellow Streetfighter 848 was on display at Bologna Motor Show from 3rd-11th December.

Motorcycle News: Stunning new 'Streetfighter Yellow' models

The new 'streetfighter yellow' was inspired by Ducati and was carried across to the high-performance Mercedes SLK 55 AMG (0-62mph in 4.6 seconds) to create a matching pair to unveil at the show. The finish of the stunning new paint job is said to be exceptional and looking at the pictures we would agree!

Motorcycle News: High performance machines, SLK 55 AMG and Streetfighter 848

The firms have said that the colour has to be seen in the flesh to truly be appreciated and whilst the colour is a standard option for the new Streetfighter 848, if there is sufficient demand the SLK 55 AMG could be supplied in the new colour as an optional extra.

Motorcycle News: Anyone for a drag race?

The new Streetfighter has been a storming success since first being introduced at EICMA in 2008 where it won the 'Most Beautiful Bike' award. The new 848 model is said to take biking pleasure back to its purest form with awesome performance and stunning naked bike styling.

With smooth and easy-to-manage power delivery  and a purpose built traction control system this bike would suit novice and experienced riders alike, with ample performance for the road and even the occasional trackday.

The 848 will of course be available in the traditional red with red frame, but is also available in the new yellow colour with a special 'racing black' coloured frame as well as the dark stealth colour variant, highlighting the fierce attitude of the Streetfighter.

It's great to see these special edition models start to trickle through as part of the agreement between Mercedes-AMG and Ducati, which was signed at the Los Angeles Motor Show in November 2010, and we can't wait to see what else is in the pipeline - perhaps a matte charcoal 1199 Panigale AMG!
