Daytona describes the family’s width choices and core construction: Daytona Road Star specification.
Width options within the Road Star family
The width choice deserves attention before selecting the usual shoe size. Daytona describes five widths within the Road Star family, so an extra-wide listing is a fitting option rather than a separate generation. Compare toe space, heel retention and closure tension with your riding socks. Ask the retailer which foot and calf measurements correspond to its width labels, and check the exact size offered before ordering. The checked listings share the main leather, membrane and reinforced-sole construction.
Two zips provide access while the hook-and-loop adjustment accommodates the calf. Check the trouser overlap with both closures secured and the knee bent. The sole is specified as resistant to oil and petrol; this does not mean it cannot slip on contamination. The Gore-Tex membrane and treated cowhide are relevant to wet-weather touring, but drying, cleaning and leather treatment should follow Daytona’s instructions.
Protection and construction
The specification lists protection at the ankle, shin and heel. Check that these areas sit correctly when you adopt your riding position.
Versions and options
The checked listing links to these options: Black. Check the selected version and available sizes before ordering; the linked price may apply to a particular option.
