Memory buckles and the ankle link

The buckle system combines quick release with a micro-ratchet memory adjustment, allowing the chosen setting to be retained between uses. Set both buckles and the upper hook-and-loop closure with your normal trousers in place. The lateral biomechanical link connects the upper boot to the lower structure; check its movement at the controls and whether its position matches your ankle.

PU-coated leather, microfibre and suede form the upper, with accordion zones for flex and a suede panel on the inner side. The Drystar membrane is the specified weather barrier. Underfoot, a reinforced insole includes a steel shank, with a removable EVA/Lycra footbed above it. Judge the complete boot on your footpegs and during a short indoor walk, paying attention to toe clearance, heel retention and the amount of movement available through the ankle.

Protection and construction

The specification lists protection at the heel, ankle and shin. Check that these areas sit correctly when you adopt your riding position.
