Here is DPS’s description of the DPS F15 EVO 108mm: The DPS F15 by ATK, is the lightest high-performance alpine touring binding, with the most neutral stance for natural ski balance. There‚Äôs a lot of new features to love for this winter, including a wider range of release values, a semi-automatic brake system, and a sleek new toe-piece design with spring tension adjustability. The toe-piece design allows optimal functionality and safety for people of all weights and ski ability. The semi-auto brake means that the brake locks up when you rotate the heel piece, removing a transition step and making your ski touring day that little bit simpler and smoother. It features individually adjustable vertical and horizontal heel release values from 7 – 15, with a patented cam system which makes step-in smooth and easy regardless of release settings. A unique adjustable boot stomp pad allows the boot heel to sit flush against the structure of the binding, significantly improving energy transfer. If you are a hard-charging, powerful skier that requires a release value of up to 15 for big stomps, this is the touring binding for you. *Note that the stomp pad is only compatible with skis with waist width greater than or equal to 95mm. The F15 can be mounted without the stomp pad on skis narrower than 95mm waist. Overview Binding Type Backcountry Pin Boot Compatibility Pin only. They’ll work with all boots that have pin hardware installed. Skier Type Freerider, Backcountry, Tourers. Skiers who want to be able to rip on the descents and need a binding that they can trust to retain the boot but release when it is necessary. They also want to keep things as light as possible when ascending. Long climbs are a part of the experience. Key Features SKIING, CAM Release System The CAM Release System drives the step-in and the vertical release in case of fall. A special CAM profile is pressed towards the heel pins by a pre-tensioned spring: when the step-in or a release occur, the pins are forced to follow the CAM profile and provide a precise release. SKIING, Elastic Response System When under stress skis flex and compress. Under these circumstances, thanks to the Elastic ResponseSystem, the heel piece can slide towards the tail and repositions itself once normal conditions are restored. SKIING, Easy Entry System This system is characterised by a new design of the toe piece. Its innovative geometries allow a smooth step-in, safe and easy to perform on all the latest boots models. Effective even if the soles are worn. SKIING, Release Adjustment Toe Piece The adjustable settings of the heel release are now available for the toe piece! The new toes feature the adjustable release values that, combined with the heel piece adjustment, delivers top class stability and a more precise release. CLIMBING, EVO Brake System Thanks to the EVO system, a single hand will be enough to manage the ski brake. By rotating the head of the bindings by 180 degrees, the ski brake activates and the binding switches from uphill to downhill mode. At this point, simply step-in to lock the brake. Similarly, simply rotate again and press the boot heel on the rear plate to lock the ski brake in position and start the ascent.
