Here is Faction’s description of the Faction Studio 1.0 Skis 2024 178cm: The Faction Studio 1.0 is the choice of the professionals, the freestyle skiers who spend the most time in the park competing and training. They re built for performance, delivering maximum pop and stability, giving you the air to nail that last rotation or conquer the rail you’ve been eyeing up. When not boosting off kickers, these twin tips shine all-mountain and can even rail GS-style turns on piste. The Faction Studio 1.0 is the ultimate choice for the freestyle skier who wants the very best performance. Terrain Type & Ability Level Terrain Type Its lightweight design and sturdy handling make it a true standout in the park. It effortlessly carves up icy pipe walls and takeoffs, making it equally suitable for quick laps on-piste. If you’re a freestyle fanatic seeking that extra pop and precise handling for ultimate control, this twintip is a top choice, and it’s easy to understand why the pros make it thier ski of choice. Skier Type This skier spends most of their time lapping the park, honing their skills on the kickers and rails. They prefer a slightly stiffer park ski, something with plenty of pop to boost off jumps and require a solid edge hold for leaning over a carve, whether on take-offs or on the slopes. Overview Shape This ski is a true twin-tip, which means it has the same shape from the middle to the tip as it does from the middle to the tail. This design allows it to handle both switch and forward riding equally, providing predictable handling whether you’re taking off or landing backwards. With its 90mm waist and Elliptical Sidecut, it offers a super stable platform for stomping tricks and locking onto rails. Rocker Tip and Tail Rocker uses traditional camber underfoot for response and good edge grip, with rocker at the tip and tail to improve manoeuvrability by aiding turn initiation and completion. Core Poplar is a light-colored, medium-weight, durable softwood that flexes and pops nicely as well as having a whole load of vibration absorption capabilities. Used as the only wood in this core, it allows the ski to pop, butter and stomp and also have enough torsional stability to grip impressively on the downhill. Construction Full Strength Sidewalls uses a construction that places strips of protective material along the sides of each core, between the edge and the topsheet. Sidewalls provide the best possible edge hold and stability when the ski is engaged in a turn as well as protecting the wood core, edges and topsheet from impact and outside damage. Micro-cap construction is a hybrid of a premium, sandwich sidewall construction fused with a lightweight, durable cap construction. With micro-cap, the sandwich construction provides awesome edge hold and torsional stability while the ski s topsheet wraps around and meets the sidewall, protecting the fragile join that can be prone to chipping. Key Features Boat Flex Heavy rocker is best complemented by solid, stiffer tips and tails, to help settle the skis and power through variable snow. Additionally, the stiff tips absorb more vibration when skiers touch down after going airborne. Just by adding a touch more flex underfoot and it allows the skis to load up and POP on request. XL 2.5mm Edges Thicker edges mean increased durability and impact resistance, crucial for a ski that is built to test the rule book. Carbon and Rubber Stomp Pad A 600mm-long, 15mm-wide carbon/rubber reinforcement underfoot, above the edge, adds strength where it matters most to this performance oriented ski. In addition to protecting the wood core from heavy-duty impact on rails, the carbon and rubber inlay adds stability and vibration absorption under your boots, so that stomped landings feel better, both for you and your skis.
