This Merlin Sentinel review looks at a fibreglass full-face helmet supplied with both a clear visor and an additional photochromic visor. The internal sun visor and included Pinlock70 insert give it several visibility options, alongside a double-D fastening and removable liner.

Included visors and communication space
The additional photochromic visor is intended to change tint with light conditions. Read the supplied care and use instructions, and check the limitations for your intended riding; the listing does not establish a particular transition speed. Confirm the correct Pinlock70 and visor combination before installation.
Speaker cut-outs sit behind the washable liner, and the EPS contains airflow channels. Nose and chin wind guards are also listed. Merlin describes an intermediate-oval fit, so try the helmet fastened and inspect contact around the forehead and sides rather than relying on size or shell material alone.
Protection and construction
The listed approval is ECE 22.06. Check the exact helmet label and specification for the version you are buying, particularly if you need it for a track event.
Fit and adjustment
The chin-strap fastening is Double-D. Make sure you are comfortable operating that fastening and adjusting it securely before choosing the helmet.
Visor and visibility
The listing includes a Pinlock insert. Confirm the supplied visor and insert combination for your chosen version, especially if you are comparing differently priced graphics.
Comfort and everyday use
The interior is removable for cleaning. Follow the manufacturer’s care instructions and refit the pads in their original positions.
Versions and options
The checked listing links to these options: Satin Silver, Matt Black. Check the selected version and available sizes before ordering; the linked price may apply to a particular option.
