Current Ducati MotoGP racer and 2006 World Champion, Nicky Hayden, is planning a flying visit to the 2011 Isle of Man TT.
Following the trend of fellow MotoGP stars Rossi, Lorenzo and Capirossi, who have all visited the island in recent years, the Dainese rider Hayden will be stopping by on Wednesday 8th June to take part in the Arai parade lap and to start Supersport Race 2.
Hayden said: “I’m really looking forward to going to the Isle of Man. I’ve been to pretty much every kind of motorcycle race you can imagine – the Daytona 200, the Jerez MotoGP, the Anaheim Supercross, the Namur World Motocross – but I’ve never been to the Isle of Man or any other real street race. The TT is just one of those events that every race fan wants to see eventually.”
The ‘Kentucky Kid’, who secured Ducati’s first podium of the 2011 season at round 2 in Jerez, is a favourite with fellow riders and fans alike. He holds the record for the youngest AMA Superbike champion, winning at just 21, and he was also awarded ‘Rookie of the Year’ in his debut MotoGP season in 2003.
Hayden will round off the week with the British round of the MotoGP at Silverstone on Sunday 12th June.
