This TCX Dartwood WP Boots review considers a leather urban boot with a T-Dry membrane, side zip and laces. D3O ankle inserts, a Z-plate shank and a Groundtrax outsole add motorcycle-specific equipment beneath the relatively understated appearance.

Side zip with lace adjustment
The lateral zip provides an entry point while the laces let you adjust the fit across the instep. Establish a secure lace setting before judging the convenience of the zip, and keep the lace ends controlled when riding. Check trouser overlap in a seated position: the waterproof T-Dry layer does not seal the opening around your leg.
The Z-plate shank reinforces the midsole, with D3O inserts at the ankle and reinforcement around the toe and heel. Assess how those parts sit against your foot during a short indoor walk and when reaching the controls. The Ortholite footbed and Groundtrax outsole complete the underfoot arrangement, but the specification cannot establish comfort on every foot or grip on every surface. The full-grain leather upper and rear reflective insert give the boot its exterior character; follow the care instructions for the leather and membrane together.
Protection and construction
The specification lists protection at the heel and ankle. Check that these areas sit correctly when you adopt your riding position.
