This Tucano Urbano El'Pop review looks at an ECE 22.06 open-face helmet with a clear visor, washable microfibre interior and micrometric buckle. Its ventilation channels and two shell sizes are useful specification points for riders comparing uncomplicated everyday helmets.

Clear visor and ventilation layout
The outer visor is polycarbonate with a scratch-resistant treatment. Check its clearance around your face and glasses when trying the helmet, and inspect the mechanism with the visor fully open and closed. The open-face layout leaves the chin exposed, irrespective of how far the clear visor extends.
The liner has perforations and the EPS contains air channels, with inlet and outlet openings forming the ventilation route. The microfibre lining can be removed for cleaning according to the instructions. El’Pop is a separate model from El’Top, so check the approval label and supplied equipment rather than assuming their similar names imply identical features.
Protection and construction
The listed approval is ECE 22.06. Check the exact helmet label and specification for the version you are buying, particularly if you need it for a track event.
Fit and adjustment
The chin-strap fastening is Quick Release. Make sure you are comfortable operating that fastening and adjusting it securely before choosing the helmet.
Comfort and everyday use
The interior is removable for cleaning. Follow the manufacturer’s care instructions and refit the pads in their original positions.
Versions and options
The checked listing links to these options: Matt Coal Grey, Matt Dark Blue, Matt Light Grey, Matt Bougainville, Matt Airborne Green. Check the selected version and available sizes before ordering; the linked price may apply to a particular option.
